Sharon Biggs Waller
Sharon Biggs Waller is a classical dressage trainer specializing in balanced riding for all disciplines and is a featured trainer in Horse Illustrated’s Training Talk column. Along with her husband Mark she was one of the Civil Service Club instructors at the Royal Mews in Buckingham Palace in London. She is also an award-winning writer and has written for Horse Illustrated, Dressage and CT, Horses USA, The Horse, Chronicle of the Horse, Veterinary Practice News and Dressage Today. In the United Kingdom she wrote for Horse magazine and Horse and Hound online. She is the author of Advanced English Horsemanship (Bow Tie Press) and In One Arena: Top Dressage Experts Share their Knowledge through the Levels (Half Halt Press). She and Mark recently moved from the Southeast of England and now live on their organic farm in Northwest Indiana.
 
Mark Waller
A career Metropolitan Police Mounted Branch officer in London with over 30 years experience in policing, Mark Waller specialized as a remount trainer and a public order and unit instructor. He was engaged in major public order events in London from ceremonies and celebrations to demonstrations and riots. Mark was seconded to City of London police toward the end of his service to assist with the development of their mounted unit. He starred in Animal Planet’s Horse Tales: Training of a Police Horse (2000), and has been in many equine publications. He is now the Director of Horsemanship Instruction at Culver Academies in Indiana, home of the famed Black Horse Troop, who recently rode in the inauguration of Barack Obama under Mark’s direction. He is a British Horse Society (BHS) certified instructor.
